Benefits of a home breastfeeding and lactation visit:
There are many benefits to having a breastfeeding and lactation visit in your home.
You are not required to leave your house with a new baby, and we bring everything to you. We can also work with you in your preferred nursing nook teaching you how to get the best experience in your personal space. Rest assured our office is your “home away from home” and we will do our best to make you comfortable. We have a reclining chair and even a futon to help parents achieve their best breastfeeding position.
The Cost of your lactation consult:
*A credit card is required on file for ALL of our patients utilizing our personal breastfeeding and lactation services.*

We are in network with Aetna, United Healthcare, UMR and Tricare East
You will have little to no out-of-pocket cost for our services if the mother is covered under the policy. If only the baby is covered we can still see you as an in-network provider but you can expect some out of pocket cost. Tricare only covers the lactating mother for in-network services.
It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company to ensure that you are covered for lactation services. Disclaimer: Even if your insurance company tells you that you are covered at 100 percent, it is possible that some plans may assign you a patient responsibility of co-insurance, co-pay, or applying towards your deductible. There will be additional fees for weekends, after-hours, and home visit fees that insurance does not cover. Please see our Insurance FAQ page for more information.
Please be aware that with Aetna in-network coverage excludes plans through Allied Health. If you have Aetna and it is an Allied Health plan, we are not in-network and you will be self pay.
Even though we are in-network with your plan, telehealth may not be covered by some plans, and the full amount of the consult or co-payments/co-insurance/deductible may apply.
Any home services will be charged a home-visit convenience fee, see price list below. If you have questions, please email ibclc@breastfeedingatlanta.com or use the contact us form.
For more information on insurance.
If you or baby have Cigna insurance, please use the link below to verify your coverage. Once approved, your lactation visits will be covered at one hundred percent; there are additional fees for home visits, weekends and holidays, and same day visits, see price list below.

We are in-network with The Lactation Network, which allows LCA to accept a range of insurance plans. If you have Aetna, UHC/UMR, or TriCare East, you can book now (you do not need to verify with TLN) .
If you or baby have a plan that includes MultiPlan or the PNOA logo on your insurance card, please click the link above to check for insurance coverage through The Lactation Network. With approval, visits will be covered and your Lactation services will be covered at no additional cost to you. There are additional fees for home visits, virtual visits and same day (emergency) appointments. Please note that there are no virtual visits for any UHC or UMR plans.
Referrals will be required for HMO plans. Patients will be responsible for getting referrals from their PCPs, this could delay your coverage approval. If your plan requires a referral, you can help expedite the process by obtaining a referral from your doctor prior to submitting your information to TLN. TLN’s coverage does not include UHC plans in the public sector, such as Medicare and
Medicaid.
When requesting coverage through The Lactation Network, you will receive an immediate response confirming your submission. You will receive eligibility response based on the level of need.If you are determined to be in their network, please proceed with booking your home, office or virtual consultation. Additional service fees may be applied for home or virtual visits. Please see price list below.
Please complete this brief survey to see if you are covered by TLN. (Only if you are not with our in-network providers)
Out of Network:
If you are not covered with any of our in-network billing options, we will provide you with a Superbill. The Superbill can be submitted to your insurance to request reimbursement for lactation services.
